On this page
A certificate of analysis is only as trustworthy as the route that leads back to the laboratory that signed it. Each report on our site carries that route in print: a Janoshik verification key or an ILS access code, which the laboratory’s own website accepts and answers with its own record. Below is how to run that check against one of our published certificates, what to compare once you have both copies in front of you, and how to tell whether the vial on your bench belongs to the batch that was tested.
Why the key exists
A vendor can scan a report, edit a number and upload the edited image. A laboratory that stores every report it issues and lets anyone look one up by its key removes that possibility, because the lookup returns what the laboratory recorded, not what the vendor posted. Our certificate pages are reproductions of the laboratory’s document with every field written out beside it; the laboratory’s lookup is the original. The check described here is simply the act of putting the two together.
The two laboratories
Only two laboratories appear on our certificates. Janoshik numbers each job as a task and prints a verification key on the report. ILS Laboratories, in San Diego, is accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 under PJLA scope; it numbers each job as a certificate and prints an access code. A certificate page naming any other laboratory is not one we published.
| Laboratory | Document number | Printed credential | Where to enter it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Janoshik | Task number, e.g. #93626 | Verification key, e.g. KY8VES262D7Z | janoshik.com/verify/ |
| ILS Laboratories | Certificate number, e.g. COA-2026-5BEDMI | Access code, e.g. VS6B9TNJ | portal.ils-lab.com |
A worked check: ILS certificate COA-2026-5BEDMI
- Open the certificate page for CJC-1295 & Ipamorelin 10 mg, ILS COA-2026-5BEDMI. You can reach it from the product page or from the certificates index, which lists every report we have published to date.
- Find the certificate number and the access code on that page. The number is COA-2026-5BEDMI; the code is VS6B9TNJ. Copy the code exactly.
- Go to portal.ils-lab.com and enter the code. The portal returns the laboratory’s record for that certificate.
- Read the laboratory’s record against our page using the comparison list further down. Every shared field should agree to the character.
A worked check: Janoshik task #93626
- Open the certificate page for BPC-157 10 mg, Janoshik task #93626.
- Note the task number, #93626, and the verification key printed beneath the report, KY8VES262D7Z.
- Go to janoshik.com/verify/, enter the key and submit it. Janoshik answers with its record of task #93626.
- Compare the laboratory’s record with our page, field by field.
A key that is not recognized usually means a mistyped character; try once more from a fresh copy of the key before reading anything into it. A key that still fails on the second attempt means the document should be regarded as unverified until we have explained it, and the last section of this page covers what to send us.
What to compare
The fields below appear on both the laboratory’s record and our certificate page. Our page also carries batch photographs and the cap and crimp colors of the lot, which are ours and are not part of the laboratory’s record.
| Field | What agreement shows | What it leaves open |
|---|---|---|
| Laboratory and accreditation | Which laboratory did the work, and under which quality system where one is stated | Whether your vial came from the tested lot |
| Task or certificate number | The record the credential points to is the one we reproduced | Anything about lots the laboratory never received |
| Dates received and analyzed | When the sample was received and run | Storage of the lot since then |
| Declared vs measured quantity | Label mass against what the laboratory weighed or calculated in the tested vial | Purity, which is a separate measurement |
| Purity percentage | The main peak’s share of the chromatogram under the stated method | Water, counter-ion, endotoxin or sterility unless each is reported |
| Identity method | The observed mass or spectrum matches the named compound | Impurities of the same mass |
| Method stated | Settings a second laboratory would need to repeat the run | Whether a different method would give the same percentage |
| Outside the report’s scope | Which tests were not performed | Nothing; it is a boundary, not a finding |
If a value matches on both copies, that field is verified. If a value is present on the laboratory’s record but missing from ours, or the two differ in any way, the reproduction is wrong and should be reported. How to read a peptide certificate of analysis explains each of these fields in more depth, including why purity by HPLC area and net content are different numbers that should never be confused.
Matching the vial to the lot
None of our vials carries a printed lot number. The link between a vial and a certificate is the pair of colors on the vial: the cap and the aluminum crimp beneath it. Each certificate page shows photographs of the tested batch with both colors visible. Set your vial beside the photographs under good light and check the cap first, then the crimp. A match on both means the certificate covers your lot.
A vial whose colors match none of the published certificates for that product is from a lot we have not yet published a report for. New reports are added as they arrive, and nothing on this page should be read as describing the lot shipping on any given day. For an unpublished lot the route to certainty is the purity guarantee: send a vial to any independent laboratory, and if it misses the specification on its certificate, the product and the testing fee are refunded when the unused material is returned with the laboratory’s report.
When something does not match
Use the contact page. Include the address of the certificate page, the name of the field that disagrees, what the laboratory’s record shows for it, and a photograph of your vial with the cap and crimp in frame. We check the page against the laboratory’s record and reply with what we find. A certificate that cannot be reconciled with the laboratory that issued it comes down from the site.
