Two rows in that table deserve a comment. Cold Spring Harbor and the rest of Long Island ride the metropolitan routing and then pick up a short local leg east of the city, which rarely costs a full day but can move an afternoon delivery to the following morning. Ithaca sits off the interstate in the Finger Lakes, so it trails Syracuse slightly on the same band.

Storage once it arrives
Freezer space in older New York research buildings is often shared between several groups, and the units themselves vary widely in age.
